The Lechuza Self Watering SystemSpend Less Time Watering and more time enjoying your plant.Whether you travel throughout the week or for several days at a time or just have trouble finding time to care for your plants, the Lechuza planter is ready to be your plant sitter. In fact, Lechuza can take care of your plants for up to *twelve (12) weeks and give them just the right amount of water and nutrients they need to keep them healthy and growing. Just fill up the water reservoir and your plant will become self sufficient. The integrated water level indicator will tell you reliably when it is time to refill the water reservoir.
It's So Simple1) Insert sub irrigation set (separator, supply shaft and water level indicator) into the planter (or alternatively into the plant liner for the column planters) and place the included Lechuza-Pon drainage material onto the separator (about 1 inch deep). 2) Add potting soil to the planter, insert plant with roots, and fill the planter with soil. Compact the soil well. 3) For the first three months, continue to water the plants from above through the soil. After that, just continue to fill the reservoir and the plant will supply itself from there. After three months, your plants roots will have grown far enough into the moist area that they will be able to obtain water from the reservoir without your assistance. Refill the water reservoir each time the water level indicates it is at the "min" level. Caring for Plants was never so easy!* The water reservoir holds up to seven (7) gallons, enough to water your plants for 2 to 12 weeks, depending on the planter size, the plant type and the planter location.
