Description:
Also known as the 'Southern Bayberry', the Wax Myrtle can grow to 20
feet in height. The scented oil contained in the 2 to 4 inch leaves is
used to make Bayberry candles. Often used as a dense hedge or natural
screening. The berries provide food for the Swallows in South Florida.
DANGER: The oils contained in this plant make it flammable if near a
fire. Maintenance: Little to none. Light: Full sun to partial shade. Soil: Likes to be moist. Salt Tolerance: High |
