muhlenbergia capillaris
Description: Besides its color, this knee high colorful grass does not produce runners. The stem is wiry and grows to 3 feet in height. The purplish puffy bloom that appears in late summer and persists for 6 to 8 weeks, is up to 18 inches in length and puffs up to 10 inches in width. Great for a high border or ground cover. 

Maintenance: Gets larger with liberal irrigation.

Light: Full sun to light shade.

Soil: Wide variety.

Salt Tolerance: Medium
